Bulk Material Handling Control Systems

Conveying, silos and loadout where a stoppage mid-discharge is real money, not just downtime.

Bulk handling — ship unloaders, conveyor networks, silos and loadout — runs to a schedule that doesn’t forgive a stoppage in the middle of a vessel discharge or a truck-loading window; every minute down during that window is a demurrage clock or a missed slot, not just idle equipment. It’s also dusty and safety-sensitive in ways that shape how the controls have to be built and maintained.

The controls side is squarely in our wheelhouse: conveyor and transfer-point sequencing, silo level and inventory tracking that has to stay accurate enough to trust, and weighing and batching systems that drift the same way they do in quarrying and cement — slowly, until a customer complaint or a stock discrepancy traces it back. Dust-collection interlocks and conveyor interlocking chains get the same attention: a bypassed or drifted interlock here isn’t a convenience issue, it’s how a small fault becomes a serious one. Ship unloaders in particular tend to fail in ways that are as much mechanical as electrical. A grab or continuous unloader fault is often a sequencing or interlock symptom of a mechanical issue upstream, not a standalone control fault.

When a site is remote, getting genuine remote visibility matters as much as the fix itself. We restore the critical path fast, then improve level, weighing and sequencing so the next discharge or loading window isn’t the one that gets missed.
